Intrastat
The Intrastat system since January 1, 1993 (ie the time of creation of the European internal market) used in the EU. The information provided by the Intrastat system is available, is used to develop the policy of the EU's internal market in general, as well as to analyze specific markets.
For 1993, the Intrastat data gathered by the Customs. At that time, all goods exported or imported, isolated, but the market since 1993 gets the Customs that it no longer, and the companies that import and export companies obliged to report data.
Data used by the national authorities may be collected are:
• the identification number assigned to the party (usually the VAT identification number);
• the reference period (usually one month, the tax period for VAT);
• the nature of the flow (arrival, dispatch);
• the goods (by the so-called 8-digit code intrastate (aka CN code));
• the value of the goods (usually the taxable amount for VAT);
• the quantities (usually expressed as net mass, ie the weight excluding packing material);
• the partner Member State (on arrival the home Member State, to dispatch the State of destination);
• the nature of the transaction (eg purchase, sale, processing trade).
